material specifications are issues of social justice, well-being, climate
change and environmental degradation. On June 8, Director of Ennead Lab and
Associate Principal Amy Mielke spoke at the 2023 AIA Conference on
Architecture about the intersectional lenses of equity, health, and
sustainability, and how firms can support marketplace transformation through
materials transparency and selection.
Joining Amy in the panel discussion were Jais Kwon, Sustainable Design Specialist at FXCollaborative Susie Teal, Partner at COOKFOX and Ann Rolland, Partner
at FXCollaborative. They discussed the approaches taken at each of
their firms and the tools available to make better-informed choices with
resource libraries and materials selection.
